The Book
A hopping, flapping story about finding your gift

Sounds of a Bumblebunny
Sounds of a Bumblebunny tells the story of Beebe, a gentle creature who is part bumblebee and part bunny. She longs to pollinate flowers like other bees, but she cannot fly and struggles with self-doubt.
With the help of a kind bird named Freddy, Beebe discovers that movement, joy and perseverance unlock her true gift. Through hopping, flapping and playful repetition, she learns that letters grow sounds, sounds grow words, and words grow stories, and she finds the power to help others discover language too.
“The two most important days of your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”
The words that open the book
Beebe’s journey
From can’t-fly to Soundinator

Far from ordinary
A bunny who can’t fly
Beebe has a lazy left eye and can’t get her feet off the ground. She feels small and unsure of herself.

A new friend
A patch for her right eye
Freddy Flycatcher brings Beebe a black patch to strengthen her lazy eye, and promises to teach her to pull a binky.

Practice, practice
Binky up, twist and kick
Freddy teaches Beebe to pull a binky: hop happily, twist and kick your feet. With practice, she starts to bounce higher and higher.

Her true gift
She can soundinate
As her ears flap like bee wings, tiny letters float off her body. While bees pollinate, Beebe soundinates.
